SPLX OS notifies you when something requires your attention — a step is assigned to you, someone mentions you in a description, or a process run reaches a step you own. Priya at Bayou & Co. uses @mentions to hand off between team members inside a running process without sending a separate Slack message — the notification goes directly to the right person.
The notification bell
The bell icon appears in the top-right navigation bar on every page. A red badge with a count appears when you have unread notifications.
Click the bell to open a dropdown showing your most recent notifications. Each notification shows:
- The event type (e.g., "You were assigned a step", "Diego mentioned you", "Process run completed")
- The record it refers to, as a clickable link
- How long ago it was created
Click any notification to navigate to the relevant record and mark the notification as read.
Click View all at the bottom of the dropdown to open the full notifications page at /notifications. This page shows your complete notification history with pagination and a Mark all as read button.
What triggers a notification
You receive a notification when:
- A process step is assigned directly to you
- You are @mentioned in a step description or notes field
- A process step you own is reached during a run
- A step assigned to you is completed or skipped by someone else
- An assessment response is submitted on an engagement you own (if configured)
- A deal linked to an engagement you own changes status
Notifications are per-user and per-tenant — you only see events in workspaces where you are a member.
How to @mention someone
@mentions work in rich-text fields across the app, including process step descriptions and notes. When you type @ followed by a name, a dropdown appears showing matching workspace members.
- Open a rich-text field (step description, notes, comment).
- Type
@and start typing a name — for example,@Diego. - Click the name in the dropdown to insert the mention.
- Save the record.
The mentioned person receives a notification immediately. The mention renders as their name highlighted in the text. If you @mention someone who is not a member of the workspace, no notification is sent and the text is saved as plain text.
Mentions in process step descriptions fan out to all assigned runners at the time the step is reached — they don't notify everyone at publish time.
Mark notifications as read
Individual notifications are marked read when you click them. To clear all at once, open the full notifications page (/notifications) and click Mark all as read. The badge on the bell clears immediately.
There is no delete option — notifications age out of the feed after 90 days.
