How to subscribe to the iCal calendar feed

Generate a personal iCal URL and subscribe to your Rhythm sessions in Google Calendar, Outlook, or Apple Calendar.

Open in SPLX OS

Every user can generate a personal iCal feed URL that surfaces their workspace's upcoming Team Sync sessions and recurring Stand Up schedules in any calendar app that supports iCal (.ics) subscriptions. The feed is read-only and updates automatically — new sessions appear and cancelled ones drop off without any manual sync.

Before you start

The Rhythm module must be enabled for your workspace. If the Calendar subscription section is not visible in your profile, ask a workspace admin to enable Rhythm from Settings → Modules.

Step 1: Generate your calendar URL

  1. Click your avatar or name in the sidebar to open your Profile.
  2. Scroll to the Calendar subscription section.
  3. Click Generate calendar URL.

The URL is shown exactly once — copy it immediately. If you navigate away before copying, you can rotate the URL (see below) to generate a new one; the old one is invalidated.

Step 2: Copy the URL

Click Copy next to the URL field. The URL looks like:

https://api.splxos.com/api/v1/rhythm/calendar.ics?token=…

This URL contains a secret token unique to your account. Do not share it.

Step 3: Subscribe in your calendar app

Google Calendar

  1. Open Google Calendar and click the + next to Other calendars in the left sidebar.
  2. Choose From URL.
  3. Paste your iCal URL and click Add calendar.
  4. Google Calendar refreshes the feed roughly every 8–12 hours.

Outlook (Web and Desktop)

  1. In Outlook, go to Calendar.
  2. Click Add calendar → Subscribe from web.
  3. Paste the URL into the Link to the calendar field, give it a name (e.g. "SPLX Rhythm"), and click Import.
  4. Outlook's refresh interval varies; expect updates within a few hours.

Apple Calendar

  1. Open Calendar on macOS or iOS.
  2. On macOS: go to File → New Calendar Subscription. On iOS: Settings → Calendar → Accounts → Add Account → Other → Add Subscribed Calendar.
  3. Paste the URL and click Subscribe.
  4. Set the Auto-refresh interval to your preference (1 hour is the shortest option).

What appears in the feed

The feed includes two types of events:

Event type Source
Team Sync sessions Upcoming sessions that have not yet ended (covers up to 30 days back)
Stand Up board schedules Boards with a recurring schedule, rendered as repeating RRULE events

Each event description contains a direct link back to the session or board in SPLX OS — click it from your calendar app to jump straight to the right page.

Rotating the URL

If your calendar URL is compromised or you want to invalidate an old subscription, click Rotate URL in the Calendar subscription section of your profile. A new URL is generated and displayed once. The old URL immediately stops working. Update your calendar subscription with the new URL in each app where you added it.

Revoking access entirely

To stop all calendar access for your account, click Revoke in the Calendar subscription section. Any calendar app subscribed to the old URL will stop receiving updates at its next refresh. You can generate a new URL at any time.
