Every conversation with the assistant is a session — a persistent thread that picks up where you left off. Diego at Northwoods Outfitters opens the assistant panel before every weekly leadership check-in, clicks the Meeting prep button, and gets a two-minute read on where things stand across strategy, execution, and rhythm. He stopped building manual pre-meeting decks in Q1 2026.
This guide covers working across multiple sessions and using the meeting-prep brief. For basic usage (opening the panel, attaching context, sending messages), see Assistant basics.
Before you start
- The Assistant module must be enabled by your workspace admin at Settings → Modules → Assistant.
- The sparkle button (✦) in the lower-right corner of every page is the only entry point — there is no dedicated
/assistantpage.
Sessions and conversation history
Each time you start a new conversation, the assistant creates a server-side session. Your conversation history is loaded automatically when you open the panel — the most recent session resumes by default.
Start a new session: Click the trash icon (clear conversation) in the assistant panel header. This ends the current session and opens a blank input. The prior session stays in history.
Find a past session: Conversation history is not currently browsable as a list in the panel — the assistant loads your most recent session on open. If you need to reference an older conversation, use your browser's text search on a past tab or ask the assistant to recall something you discussed previously (it searches within the current session only).
Session continuity: If you close the panel and reopen it on the same or a different page, the same session resumes. The session stays active until you explicitly clear it with the trash icon.
Meeting-prep brief
The meeting-prep brief is a one-click workspace summary designed to prepare you for a check-in, client call, or leadership meeting. It pulls live data from your workspace and presents it as a narrative in the assistant panel.
Generate a brief:
- Open the assistant panel by clicking the sparkle button (✦).
- Click the calendar icon (CalendarCheck) in the panel header — it is to the left of the trash icon.
- The assistant generates the brief and appends it as an assistant message in the current session. Generation takes 5–15 seconds.
The brief summarises the state of your workspace across the modules you have enabled. A typical brief from Bayou & Co. covers:
- Open execution projects and any tasks that are overdue or flagged
- Strategy metric trends from the current quarter
- Rhythm meeting cadences and any upcoming sessions
- People or finance highlights if those modules have recent activity
The exact content depends on which modules are enabled and what data is present. Workspaces with more activity get more specific summaries.
Use the brief in conversation: After the brief appears, type follow-up questions to drill into any area. "What are the specific overdue tasks?" or "Which strategy metric has declined the most this quarter?" The assistant can answer from your workspace data in the same session.
Generate a fresh brief mid-session: You can click the calendar icon again at any point in the session. The new brief appends below the existing conversation, giving you a refreshed snapshot if time has passed since the last one.
Settings and usage limits
Navigate to Settings → Modules → Assistant (or /settings/modules/assistant) to see:
- Monthly token limit — the workspace-wide cap set by the admin
- Per-user usage breakdown — how many tokens each team member has consumed this month
- Limit — the admin can raise or lower the cap here
When your workspace approaches the monthly cap, the assistant panel shows a warning before each send. If the cap is reached, the send button is disabled until the month resets or the admin raises the limit.
